Computer Algebra and Applications

The Computer Algebra and Applications (CAA) Group at RISC develops computer algebra algorithms and implements mathematical software packages with the emphasis to apply them to non-trivial applications.

This research group originated from the Algorithmic Combinatorics Group (founded by Peter Paule) which has been expanded in the last years to a wide range of applications. Currently, the CAA group focuses on algorithms for symbolic summation and integration, special functions, and modular forms. Special emphasis is put on problems coming, e.g., from

that are difficult or even impossible to tackle without the tools provided from RISC.
